What does „organic“ mean?

We are organic millers!

Rolle Mühle has been environmental friendly since 1992. All flour is ground using water power. We are certified by BCS ÖKO Garantie GmbH Nuremberg and we also work following the cultivation practices of the association Bioland & Gäa. Our customers are bakeries, baking industry and special traders.

What does organic cultivation mean?

Organic cultivation uses natural cycles and completely rejects the use of synthetic pesticides and artificial fertilizer.

Organic farmers uses:

  • Plants that are fast growing and ground covering, as well as mechanical means for controlling weeds.
  • stable manure, compost, legumes or green manuring for soil fertilization
  • smaller arable land areas and observance of crop rotation,  to minimise pests.
  • beneficial insects produced in house, for example ladybirds for greenfly control
  • daylight and species-appropriate animal husbandry
  • organic feeding of the animals
  • no GMO

 Why organic products?

Organic products are a real treat because of their environmentally friendly production & processing. By buying organic products everyone can do his/ her stint for saving our environment.

Are organic products free of harmful substances, do they generate environmental pollution?

Products of organic farming can also affect the environment. However, because of their environmentally friendly production & processing there will be no additionally pollution of environment.  Land and groundwater are spared.

Verification of organic in Germany

Everyone who wants to proclaim their products as organic has to declare their business at a German board of control, supervised by government. On-site supervision of compliance with organic regulations takes place regularly, as well as unannounced inspections. Rolle Mühle is certified by BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH Nuremberg DE- ÖKO-001.
